The roaring twenties is a period in history where there were dramatic social and political changes. or the first time ever, more Americans lived in cities than on farms. The nation's total wealth has more than doubled and this economic growth has turned many Americans into a "consumer society" leading lives of prosperity. They buy the same things, listen to the same music, do the same dances and even use the same slang. This period is also often called The Jazz Age, because at this time Jazz music and dancing became entertainment to forget the terror during World War I.
Who doesn't know the most recognizable female symbol of "Roaring Twenties"? Of course, the Flapper. Flapper is a young woman with bob hair and short skirt who drinks, smokes and says what could be called “unladylike” things and they are also being more sexually free that the previous generation. We could say that it was the “new women” era in which women had freedom in their own activities. They have the right to vote and did not have to stay in the home anymore. Art Deco is believed to be influenced by various modern currents, including Modernism, Cubism, Futurism, Bauhaus, Constructivism and Art Nouveau, and also take ideas - ancient design ideas such as Egypt, Syria, and Persia.
