Small size bags are the most popular bag design used by the Indonesian since it seems light, practical, and straightforward. Speaking of modernization, more and more exploration has been carried out on various aspects ranging from shape, material, function, up to the bag making process by using technological sophistication to discover new bag products that have never been found before. Intense competition in the fashion sector encourages every business to be smarter to create an identity and characteristic that can differentiate themselves from others since many newcomer brands present to offer similar types of products. To support the community's welfare, many local brands are inviting the participation of creative artisans in the bag making process to create excellent products.

Tamilli

Wearable art is formed from a set of beads merging into a line, lines to curves, and curves into beautiful pieces. Out of the box mindset is Tommy Ambiyo Tedji's main foundation in implementing the science fiction idea into wearable experimental objects. BYO interprets futuristic designs combined with a subtle approach through laser cutting and 3-D printing techniques. Made from Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), each bag is created with practicality, functionality, and durability in mind.


Collaborating with ARA, a well-known conceptual store in Jakarta, the collection of accessories embraces a broader market by creating products with synthetic leather as the main material with a smoother, softer, and more flexible texture compared to PVC. Interestingly to further support the form and appearance, this collaboration presents a new interweaving pattern replicating an alligator's skin. Overall, this brand invents local bags with an extraordinary design and manner to drag the attention from all pairs of eyes in the room.

Sarah Beatrice Artisan
