So, what is influencer marketing?
Influencer marketing is a new type of marketing that is popularly used in the digital era where it uses the support and products mentioned by influencers. Influencers themselves are individuals who have dedicated followers and are seen as experts where each of them will have a different target market. Influencer marketing has a tremendous engagement level because of the good relationship and high amount of trust that influencers have built up with their following. Any recommendations given from them function as a form of proof to your brand's potential customers.
Influencer marketing strategies have an important role on Instagram. Why Instagram? This is because Instagram is one of the highest numbers of social media users in the entire world. A decade ago, the arena for influencer marketing was limited to celebrities and some dedicated bloggers. However, now everyone can become an influencer where they only need a unique personal style, a good Instagram feed, and many followers. Influencer marketing carried out by a brand must also be adjusted to the target market. If the products are intended for the millennial generation, then the selected influencers must represent that generation so their recommendations can work and be trusted.

How to create an influencer marketing strategy?
01. Conduct research
Research must be carried out to determine where the Influencer strategy should be applied. For example, beauty and fashion brands are really in demand on Instagram and Youtube. So, those social media platforms are the most strategic locations to implementing this strategy for beauty and fashion brands since that is the market and will attract more potential buyers to increase sales.
02. Set a budget
Running a successful influencer marketing campaign is not the type of strategy that stops doing in one time. This type of marketing will involve careful monitoring and follow-up. If the selected influencer can achieve the goals and bring a good impact to the brand, long-term cooperation can be applied. On the contrary, if the brand obtains no progress then we need to find the other influencer.
03. Decide on goals and messages
The 2 most common reasons for using influencer marketing are to increase brand awareness and also increase product sales. However, many other goals can be obtained from this strategy. For example: using influencers to talk about your brand values and expand to new user groups with new products. We must be able to use influencer to help ensure that the audience interested in the product offered is reading and engaging with our content.
04. Find your influencer
Pay attention to the type of influencer you are interested in. Influencers must be adjusted to the brand's needs, where they must be appropriate to represent the products offered. If the product is expensive, classy and targeted to the upper class, celebrities will be suitable as influencer marketing. Conversely, if the product is offered for the millennial generation at an affordable price, then micro-influencers will be more appropriate and impact brand sales.
05. Review
Even though an influencer marketing campaign is in progress, you should still review any progress that has impacted the brand. Besides that, always prepare a plan if the results are not as expected.
In conclusion, today's brand is highly recommended to implement influencer marketing because we have to keep update of trends and understand the needs of today's society where they really believe in anything that is said by the influencers. Learn and know who the target market is very important to set what strategy is best for increasing management levels. Influencers become one of the important roles to persuade customers most effectively and efficiently in the current modern era.
